** NEW LARGER VENUE **
"On Parade" is the Ontario Model Soldier Society's annual public show and celebration of the hobby of model soldiers. It's Canada's largest toy soldier show.
This year we have moved the show to a new larger venue at the Franklin Horner Community Centre. We will have two large adjoining gymnasiums as our show space. We have also returned to our traditional Saturday date for the show.
The Horner Community Centre is about 15 minutes from last year's show location. See our Show Directions page for details.
Check out a short video about the show from our Youtube channel.
Show admission is $10 per adult. Children under 12 are admitted free.
We will have free toy soldiers for the kids attending the show, courtesy of the W. Britain company. Get them started young!
** Tables are sold out **
We expect to have a good turnout of vendor tables again with a wide variety of hobby merchandise including toy soldiers new and vintage, books, connoisseur figure kits, action figures and more.
With our larger space we shouldn't have to turn any vendors away this year.
Shoppers are advised to bring cash as not all vendors are set up to accept credit cards or debit.
For booking details check out our Vendor Information Package.
The Horner Centre has a cafe on site and will be serving breakfast and lunch items. No need to go off site for food or refreshments.
For those coming from out of town, we have arranged a special rate at the nearby Stay Inn for those attending ON PARADE. See our Accomodations page.
Ken and Ericka Osen from Britain's will once again be attending our show. They will be displaying some of Britain's new releases and will be available to chat with show attendees. Ken will also be presenting a free seminar.
The Society will be holding its Annual Competition at the show. For a full description of the competition see the Competition page.
Our larger venue means we will not need to restrict space for entries or displays. However if you are planning a display larger than 6 feet please consult the committee so we can reserve a spot for you.
You can download a printable entry form for the competition here, You can fill it in ahead of time and bring it with you.
We will once again be running a free painting table for young visitors. Everything is supplied with supervision and guidance from our volunteers. Just the thing to let the kids get a taste for painting a toy soldier (or keep them occupied while you shop!).
